To try and ensure that everyone in the society gets a chance to win prizes the WGS has introduced an Outing Penalty/Extra Point System. The system is designed to penalise those that win often by applying penalty points to reduce their score, and to promote those that do not win prizes by providing extra points for them.

The Handicap committee will assign you a playing handicap to start. Based off of your performance your handicap will be adjusted. If you want to discuss your assigned handicap please leave feedback here
For wining and event, you get assigned -3 penalty points. This means that 3 stableford points will be deducted from your next outing. Your handicap will remain the same. Once you accumulate -5 penalty points your playing handicap will be adjusted by one shot as per the rules above.
If you finish at the bottom of the pile you will be awarded +3 stableford points for the next outing. So your handicap will stay the same unless you have accumulated +5 or more penalty points. Your handicap will then be adjusted by one shot and you will have -3 penalty points deducted from your points.
